General surgeon Dr. Randy Ross is board-certified and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. As a longstanding physician at Valley View, he has two-and-a-half decades of experience and expertise in all aspects of general surgery for both benign and malignant conditions.
While some of the treatments, technologies and techniques in surgery have changed over 25 years, Dr. Ross’s commitment to each individual—and the specifics of their unique case and care—has not.
“General surgery is extremely broad, not specific to one part of the body or one disease. With it, I can directly intervene to help and individual in an immediate and highly effective way,” says Dr. Ross. “It’s gratifying to be able to make a rapid impact to help or heal a person’s trauma, cancer or other condition.”
Born and raised in Albuquerque, Dr. Ross graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s in biomedical engineering from the University of New Mexico (UNM). He then attended medical school at UNM, where his studies emphasized pathology. Surgical residency took him to San Antonio for two years; he completed residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver (UC Health).
