Lauren Kropp, MD

Radiation Oncologist

Dr. Kropp is a board-certified radiation oncologist at Valley View’s Calaway-Young Cancer Center. She earned her medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, Florida where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Kropp completed her radiation oncology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she served as Chief Resident in her final year of training. When planning radiation treatments, Dr. Kropp strives to focus on utilizing advanced technologies while developing individualized treatment plans in order to reduce the side effects of treatment.

Dr. Kropp grew up in DeLand, FL and received her Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences from the University of Florida. “I always knew I would have a career in medicine, but I had an early interest in animal husbandry and agriculture,” she says. “Now that background and my love of animals is a great way to connect with patients.”

Dr. Kropp is a member of Radiating Hope, a nonprofit organization that strives to improve radiation oncology care internationally. She has traveled to Nepal and Chile on advocacy trips with Radiating Hope, supporting radiation oncology practices in those nations.

In her spare time, Dr. Kropp loves to fish, snowboard, travel, and read. She also treasures the time she spends with her husband, Nick, and her two Rhodesian ridgebacks, Beauregard and Hemingway.
