Alexandra Donovan, MD

Dr. Alexandra Donovan, MD, MPH, is the newest addition to Valley View’s Calaway•Young Cancer Center. She works as both an Oncologist and Hematologist, providing specialized care to patients with a broad spectrum of cancers and blood disorders. She is originally from Vail, Colorado, and is thrilled to return to Rockies to serve her mountain community. She was inspired to pursue a career in Oncology after losing her father to cancer at a young age. As a cancer survivor herself, she appreciates the complex emotional aspect of a cancer diagnosis, and she is most grateful for the deep relationships she develops with patients during such a sensitive time in life. Her goal is to improve quality of life and the overall “Cancer Experience” for patients and their families as she helps them navigate the most up-to-date evidence-based treatment options.

Dr. Donovan graduated from the University of Arizona – College of Medicine – Phoenix, earning her dual Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health degrees. She then completed both her Internal Medicine Residency and combined Hematology-Oncology Fellowship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire prior to moving to the Roaring Fork Valley.
